This Saturday, when out and about in Downtown Tunkhannock, you have to stop in Kaleidoscope and see their new inventory!

My beautiful friends, Heather and Kinsy opened Kaleidoscope about 2 years ago, after extensively renovating the building, inside and out. Tunkhannock natives will remember the Mary Go-Round which was in the same space in the same building but it looks totally different now. Heather and Kinsy were able to take advantage of existing features like brick walls and hardwood floors while adding so many other elements of character. The shop is so bright and light-filled because of the floor to ceiling windows that they installed in the front. I want to move in!

Some of the new merchandise that I love include these signs, especially the “Unplug” sign which is something that everyone in my family needs to remember. I think the “Life is very short” sign would look especially charming in my foyer or in my kitchen. When my kiddos complain about their dinner, I could just point to the sign instead of answering their pleas.
For all you Fixer Upper fans, you’ll feel like the shop was curated by Joanna Gaines. Many of these items seem similar to the decor used in her wildly popular show. But, you can achieve that rustic farmhouse look shopping right here in Tunkhannock. Heather and Kinsy personally select all of the merchandise for Kaleidoscope and they have mad design chops!
With many weddings coming up in the summer months, this cute display houses several sweet gifts for the happy couple. But if you are looking for gifts just for you (maybe for Mother’s Day?) the mercury glass candle sticks on top would look fabulous on a table as a centerpiece with cream candles and a wood bowl next to it or even fruit (like lemons or limes) placed in the pedestal stands that are stacked on the shelf below.
Besides home decor, Kaleidoscope also sells unique jewelry pieces. My daughter bought the bracelet on left and they are super cute in person. (Another great Mother’s Day idea!)

Immediately upon entering Kaleidoscope, this display welcomes you. The galvanized metal trays stacked on the bottom left especially have my heart. The trays are the perfect size for summer BBQ’s — sturdy and able to hold your plates, silverware and drinks. Or, yummy side dishes too.
Here’s a close up of the trays..
I hope The Boss makes note of this. I’ll say it again: I LOVE these trays! What better way to gift the mother of your three fabulous kiddos?

This is a view of the back of the shop and another example of the detail that went into the renovation. All of these doors and the window above were reclaimed and repurposed here to separate the store from the storage space behind it. So clever!
Kaleidoscope is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11:30-5pm and Sundays 12-4pm. Be sure to stop in to see what’s new.
Also, if you haven’t been shopping in Tunkhannock in a while, visit Beads and Baubles which is a jewelry store next door, and Friends, unique gifts, which is next door to Monzie’s florist which is a little further down the street.
If you have even more time, than you also must visit one of my favorite treasure-hunting stops — Bridgestreet Markeplace. I get lots of fabulous finds there. A definite future blog post!
All this shopping will probably leave you very hungry which is a good thing because Tunkhannock has some great lunch places, like Twigs, Seasons, The Bistro, The Downtown Deli, and the Yearbook diner. Maybe I will run into you!
Thanks for reading — have a wonderful weekend!
The store looks incredible.
