And the built ins are done — the planning began wayyyy back in August and I’ve been styling them in my mind since then. The extra storage is such a perk too — I put everything back that I had in my old IKEA cabinet and there’s still empty shelves which makes me soo happy. Matt Wooten of Wooten Cabinetry made them for me (he also crafted my oven hood years ago) He’s a former student of mine and such a talent!! I’ll pass along his info if you’re interested ❤️
Layered extra blankets to cuddle with during this snowstorm — tucking myself in with my Kindle in 3..2..1.....❤️
Seems like we just finished this bedroom refresh .... how can it already be time for S to go back to Notre Dame? Our house will be so empty without her but I know she is ready to get back at it. Excited to see what this semester brings for her and I guess when I miss her too much, I can just crawl into her bed and hide away from the world. Does saying goodbye ever get easier? This momma is really feeling it ALL today 😭😭
Quick pillow swap out — still with lots of cozy layers + blankets because it’s only January (it’s still January!) and winter is going to be around A LOT longer ... the grey squishy ones are from Amazon and have a linen texture (but not PB price!) and the oblong stripy ones and fringe-y one are from H&M and are currently 15% off, if you’re in the mood to shop.
Tucked in cozy on my couch and sneaking a peek at the snow falling so steadily outside — forgetting Covid and other concerns for the moment and focusing on simple pleasures like my Christmas tree lights and finishing the world’s cheesiest movie — A Christmas in California. It’s on Netflix and I can already guess the ending but that’s totally the point, right? ❄️
Walls and trim are done. No more blue and it feels so fresh & clean!
