New kicks.

I bought THE cutest shoes at Target last weekend and thought you might want to buy them too!

I am not a fashionista by any means but I do like wearing clothes and shoes that are more do’s than don’ts.  Last week I blogged about blogs I read regularly and many of you liked (and clicked on)  the blog I shared J’s Everday Fashion so I thought you might like to know every once and awhile what I’m buying not only to spruce up the homestead, but also what I’m buying just for me.

Here are the shoes…da’ dum.

I couldn’t copy the pic from Target’s website but click here.

For my PSU gals (and all the other survivors of 90’s fashion) these remind me of a more elegant cross of a bootie and a mule.  And I love them!  I bought them in black AND in tan (taupe). Using my Target red card knocked another 5% off the purchase price which made them even more affordable.  What I also love about Target is their weekly sales and their Cartwheel app.  If you check each, you could get even further discounts so watch out for any upcoming bargains.  Right now the deal online for these shoes is $5 off of a $25 purchase or $10 off of $50.

This is how I styled them for work today.  I’m a high school English teacher so business cas’ is how I roll…But I think this would look great for a date night too.  (I haven’t had a date night in a LONG time.  Hope The Boss is reading this!)

The top is by Lush from Nordstorm.com.  It’s still on sale for $25.20.  I found it from a blog I follow (and recommended to you) called A Thoughtful Place.  Nordstorm has free shipping and free returns FYI. I am wearing the New Olive which looks really evergreen on their website but definitely more military green in person.  Do not be afraid.  Trust me. I ordered the top in a size XS.  It is roomy so keep that in mind but I like that I can wear it untucked or tucked in the front with jeans.

Pants and the necklace are both from the Banana Republic Factory Outlet.  The pants are several years old and the necklace was purchased last fall, but these pants and this necklace look similar.  The Banana outlet routinely has big storewide sales — like 50-75% off  (online too) so these would be a better deal.

The heel is high enough to make this shortie taller but square enough to keep me balanced and comfy.  I am wearing a 7 which is my usual size. These shoes will be the perfect spring to summer shoe.  I think they will look great with cropped jeans, skinny jeans, wide-legged jeans, and even maxi summer dresses.  I bet shorts too.

So I just had to share! If you like posts like this one, let me know and I will keep it coming. Have a fabulous day!  Good thing these have a closed toe — it rained a lot today! Yikes.

  1. This is exactly why one cannot enter Target with a list and leave Target with only those items. Love that place!
